Rob Allen Dorado Carbon 130cm Speargun

The Rob Allen Dorado Carbon 130cm Speargun represents the culmination of extensive development time invested by Rob Allen into making his carbon spearguns better than ever. Named after the Dorado, also known as Dolphin Fish or Mahimahi, this is the 2016 generation model featuring a carbon barrel that Rob Allen manufactures himself, ensuring the highest possible quality and consistency. The result is a barrel that is twice as strong and noticeably lighter than the Sutu and Zulu aluminium models, finished with a striking airbrushed Mahimahi colour design that makes it one of the most visually distinctive and technically capable spearguns available.

Handle

The Dorado is equipped with the latest Vecta 2 handle and mechanism. The entire handle and mechanism cassette is constructed from glass-reinforced polyamide, giving it unequalled strength. The join where the handle meets the barrel is critical, as any weakness here can present a safety issue and any movement will drastically affect accuracy. The Rob Allen handle features a webbed internal spigot that is further reinforced by external shrouds, totally eliminating any flex at this critical junction.

The handle has an integrated reel bracket so the Rob Allen Vecta reel can be mounted without needing any screws, and it is shaped to prevent any chance of the shooting line catching when a reel is not fitted. The Vecta grip is moulded from rubber and is held in place by two cheek plates to prevent twisting. An extra-strong through bolt is fitted at the base of the handle for additional strength where the floatline will be attached, and the Vecta handle comes with a swivel and shark clip already attached.

The Vecta mechanism features a mechanical line release. The sear is laser cut from solid stainless steel and all pivot pins are made of stainless steel for strength under high loads.

Muzzle

The Dorado is fitted with the Rob Allen low-profile Vecta closed muzzle. The low-profile design creates extremely low drag through the water, improving speed and manoeuvrability. The muzzle is configured for double 16mm Rob Allen latex rubbers, which are included as standard.
