The Cressi Gara 2000 HF holds a unique place in freediving history as the first fin in the world constructed from three distinct materials, a process Cressi perfected and patented specifically for this model. The result is a fin that delivers unsurpassed propulsive performance while keeping weight to an absolute minimum, giving freedivers a genuine advantage in effort-to-efficiency ratio at depth.

At the heart of the design is a blade crafted from an extremely lightweight, reactive polypropylene. As the diver completes each stride, the blade progressively loads energy, then releases it like a spring at the precise moment the stroke reverses. This creates a powerful, fluid propulsion cycle that works with the diver rather than against them.

The foot pocket is formed from a soft elastomer that wraps anatomically around the foot, ensuring maximum contact and perfect transmission of leg-to-fin thrust with minimal energy loss. A suitably firm copolymer reinforces critical zones of the foot pocket and extends along both sides of the blade in two lateral stringers that run halfway down its length. These stringers serve a dual purpose: they regulate and harmonise the blade's bending characteristics, and they protect the fin from the knocks and abrasions that come with regular use.

Compared to equivalent rubber-footed fins, the Gara 2000 HF is extraordinarily light, reducing inertial mass to the minimum and translating directly into less fatigue and greater efficiency on long dives.
