Quality Assurance Testing

Every single Atlantis Icon BCD undergoes a rigorous three-stage quality assurance process before it is packaged and shipped.

First Step: The entire air cell is fully inflated and deflated for 25 cycles, followed by a 2-hour stand test whilst fully inflated. If the air cell fails at any point during this step, it is destroyed.

Second Step: The air cell is again inflated and deflated for 25 cycles, followed by a 4-hour stand test whilst fully inflated. If the air cell fails at any point during this step, it is destroyed.

Final Step: The BCD is fully inflated and left to stand for 24 hours. The OPVs (over pressure valves) are individually given final pressure tests at 2.5 lb and 4.0 lb. If the air cell or OPVs fail at any point during this step, they are destroyed.

Only once the BCD has passed every stage of this process is it packaged and prepared for your next diving adventure.
